I just opened a statement from the first credit card I ever got (in 2001) that I haven't used in 8 years or so, and they said I owed them $16.50. Apparently there was an annual fee applied in May and interest on top of that. At least when I called them they waived the fee. When I told them I wanted to cancel my account, they said they could get rid of the annual fee since I had been a customer for such a long time. I told them sorry, I'd still like to cancel my account.
